The Montserrat Embroidered & Faux Fur Banana Handle Bag, named after the SS Montserrat - the ship that my Grandfather travelled on to come to the UK in 1958, takes inspiration from the colours and textures found in The Windrush Collection.

Hand-embroidered with synthetic and natural raffia to create a checked pattern inspired by the Creole madras cloth which is used in traditional wear in Caribbean countries like Saint Lucia, Dominica and Guadeloupe. The detailed embroidery is paired with a soft faux fur fabric sewn to the sides of the bag. This bag also features a laser cut banana handle, engraved with the Tihara Smith logo and hand-stained in dark oak. Its classic shape and small size make it the perfect accessory to add a touch colour and texture to your look.

Each bag is designed & handmade to order in London.

Handmade in 6-8 weeks. If you need your order sooner, please get in touch and I'll see what I can do! (Please note, rush orders may be subject to a rush fee.)
